Techflo Water Pump

The exact letters and numbers on the label are the useful starting point.

Techflo water pumps appear in several forms, from compact shower pump models to variable-speed units. If yours has stopped, become noisy or no longer gives the pressure it once did, Booster Pumps can assess the installed equipment and explain the practical next step.

One name, several pump types

What kind of Techflo pump do you have?

“Techflo” alone does not tell us the pressure rating, activation method or what the unit was selected to supply.

QT models

These are associated with compact shower-pump applications. The full reference helps establish if the unit is a single or twin arrangement and what should be checked around it.

VariQ models

Variable-speed equipment should be assessed as a system. Pressure demand, stored water, controls, pipework and the behaviour shown by the unit all matter.

Older references

Labels such as ST55N, M330N or M550N may still be found on installed pumps. Age alone does not settle the repair decision, but condition and suitable parts availability will.

A sensible diagnostic route

We trace the change, not just the noise

A pump can react to a restriction, supply issue or installation fault elsewhere. Replacing the unit without understanding the wider system may leave the real problem untouched.

If water is near electrical equipment, isolate the supply only if it is safe to do so and do not run the pump again.

Describe what happens

Does it fail to start, pulse, continue running, lose pressure, leak or make a new sound? Tell us if the problem affects one outlet or the whole property.

Identify the installation

The model, its location, the outlets served and any recent plumbing work help narrow the investigation before parts or replacements are discussed.

Assess repair value

A repair may make sense for a serviceable fault on an otherwise suitable unit. Severe damage, repeated failure or an incorrectly selected pump can make replacement the more honest answer.

Confirm the next action

You receive an explanation based on the installed pump and system, rather than a generic recommendation based only on the brand name.

Repair, service or replacement

The right outcome depends on what we find

A Techflo pump that will not start may have a different cause from one that starts but delivers weak or uneven pressure. Cycling, air-related noise and intermittent operation also require different checks.

Booster Pumps works from the symptoms and installation conditions. We can discuss fault diagnosis, servicing and, where appropriate, a correctly considered replacement.

Do not keep resetting or dismantling a water pump. Electricity, water and pressurised plumbing are a poor combination for guesswork.

Common questions

Techflo water pump FAQs

The label and installation usually answer more than the casing colour or approximate age.

Can a Techflo water pump be repaired?

Some faults may be repairable, but it depends on the exact model, condition, diagnosis and availability of suitable parts. An inspection is needed before a repair can be promised.

Is Techflo made by Stuart Turner?

Techflo is presented within Stuart Turner’s pump range. Give us both the Techflo name and the complete model code when making an enquiry.

Why does my Techflo pump keep starting and stopping?

Cycling can have more than one cause, including demand, controls, a leak or conditions elsewhere in the installation. Switch the pump off if its behaviour is abnormal and arrange a proper check.

Can you replace an older Techflo pump?

Replacement can be considered after the existing duty, supply arrangement, pressure requirement, head condition and pipework have been checked. A similar physical size does not automatically make another pump suitable.

What should I send with my enquiry?

Send a photo of the model label, a wider installation photo, the symptoms, the outlets affected and your Eircode. This makes the first conversation far more useful.
