Repairs & common symptoms
Why is my water pressure low?
Low pressure can have several causes, including restricted flow, supply issues, a control fault or a worn pump. Tell us whether every outlet is affected or just one, and whether the problem is constant or intermittent.
Why does the pump run when no tap is open?
A small leak, a toilet refilling, a pressure loss or a control issue may cause unexpected operation. The symptom needs investigation; it does not automatically mean the pump needs replacing.
My pump is noisy or vibrating. What should I do?
Describe the sound and when it occurs. Loose mounting, air, restricted supply or worn components can contribute. Do not remove electrical covers or attempt internal repairs.
What if my pump is leaking, overheating or smells burnt?
Stop using it. If safe, isolate the pump at an accessible dry switch and contact a qualified professional. Keep clear of wet electrical equipment and do not repeatedly reset a tripping circuit.
Can a pump usually be repaired?
Many faults can be repaired, but the decision depends on the cause, pump condition, parts availability and repair cost compared with replacement. We explain the practical options after assessment.
How long will a repair take?
Timing depends on the fault, access and available parts. Some jobs can be completed during the first visit; others need parts or further work. Ask for an estimate for your particular pump.
Replacement & compatibility
How do I choose a replacement pump?
The replacement must suit the water supply, plumbing, demand and controls. A similar size or bar rating alone is not enough. Share the existing model and describe the outlets it serves.
What is the difference between a shower pump and a whole-house booster?
They serve different demands and water-system arrangements. A shower pump may supply a bathroom circuit, while a whole-house booster may serve multiple outlets. Selection needs to match the installed system.
Which pump brands do you work with?
Our published services cover brands including Grundfos, Walrus, DAB, Stuart Turner, Lowara, Wilo, Ebara and Salamander. Contact us with the exact model so we can confirm suitable support and parts availability.
Will a more powerful pump always improve pressure?
No. An oversized or unsuitable pump can create noise and other problems. The supply, pipework, controls and demand all matter; choose a unit based on the system rather than the highest pressure rating.
